Oh what a knight!

Neil saw an ad for 'Medieval Times' a few weeks ago and we thought it would be a fun-family-outing. We bought tickets for tonight's show and drove up to Discover Mills.
Discover Mills is a large mall-area with lots of shops, restaurants and outlets. Our first stop was the Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World. If you take pictures of your children playing inside a Bass Pro Shop, you might be a redneck! Allie & Ryan loved exploring all of the boats and ATVs as well as checking out the fish in the aquarium. We purchased their first fishing rods which we hope to use in HH next week (for the record, Allie's is Barbie and pink, Ryan's is Darth Vader).
We walked through the mall a bit and found the LEGO store. Ryan has decided that we need to return before the holidays so he can make a list. I think the list will probably read something like this:

Please buy me everything in the LEGO store (including the life-size Darth Vader).

Then, it was time for the main event. We upgraded to the 'King's Royal' package which gave us front row seats, a banner in our Knight's color, a framed photo, and a commemorative program & DVD. I balked at first but I'm putting it out there. Neil was right. It was totally worth it!! We brought some of the kids' dress-up clothes from home (which saved us from having to buy them stuff from the gift shop). After expoloring the 'dungeon' and watching the King 'knight' some people, we were ready for the show.
Allie & Ryan were enthralled from the start! The food was 'eh' but we all had fun eating chicken and potatos with our hands. The show was great, especially the last half which included all of the jousting and battles. Allie showed her 'super-fan' status by screaming 'GO BLACK & WHITE' for our Knight. (If you recall, she was the one banging the glass @ the Bruins game a few months ago). I can't wait to take her to a Red Sox or Patriots game. She will fit right in!

Yes, Mommy had a beer to prepare for the medieval madness!

After the show, we dropped Neil @ the airport and both kids passed out in the car. Both are in camp this week (Ryan @ Mt. Zion and Allie @ Young Chef's Academy). It will be a busy week and then we are heading back to HH! Our final beach week for the summer!
