The Price is Right

I am pretty upset about Bob Barker's retirement. Why, you might ask, would I be upset about Bob Barker? It's not that I don't know who will remind people to spay and neuter their pets (we don't want cats taking over the world, right??) It's not that I have a 'thing' for white-haired men in bad suits.

For those that have not known me FOREVER, you might not know that I went to a taping of The Price is Right. During December break of my freshman year of college (1992-1993), I flew out to LA to visit my friend Rachel 'girls with bright red afro hair are cool' Daniels. We decided to wake up at the crack of dawn to go to a taping. We missed the early taping (during which a young gentleman won BOTH showcase showdowns)...but we were in the front row for the 2nd taping of the day. We were sitting RIGHT behind Contestant Row. As we filed into the theater, we had to introduce ourselves to the producers. I should have done something crazy like saying I was an aspiring astronaut or something. Instead I said 'Hi. I am Carri Abramowitz and I am a freshman at Tufts University in Massachusetts'. DORK! I did not get picked...but the woman sitting right next to me was called (which gave me 0.3 seconds of camera time!). I think she was upset because we were right behind contestants row so she didn't get to run down the ramp. Anyway, she played the golf game and she lost. I know I would have won the new car. I don't know if I'll be able to watch Drew Carey try to step into Bob's shoes. I doubt Drew will try to molest Barker's Beauties!

Speaking of new cars...we bought a new car on Saturday. It is a 2007 Chevy Tahoe and it's red. I love it love it love it! However, I am only allowed to drive it, slowly, in the driveway, on sundays.
A very special birthday wish to Charlie 'I'm really a Red Sox Fan even though they dress me in Yankees clothing' Staub! He turns 1 today!!!

And, Neil is 34 today. Happy Birthday to 'my old man'!

Ryan, the disciplinarian

While I was cooking dinner (translate to boiling water for Mac N Cheese) last night, Ryan was playing outside of the playroom. All of a sudden, he throws his bunny (his lovey blanket) on the floor and screams:

"Bunny, you go to time-out".

Then he picks it up and throws it again screaming:

"Bunny, stay in time out!!"

I guess I'm a mean mommy!

Allie's prediction for Bermbino #2

Our friends (and LOYAL blog readers ) Liz and Eric Berman are expecting their 2nd child in November. Cole was 'The BERMBINO' when Liz was pregnant the first time, thus now we have Bermbino #2.

I left a message for Liz this morning and then had the following conversation with Allie.

Allie: Who was that?
Carri: It was Liz.
A: Oh, Liz has a baby in her belly.
C: That's right. What kind of baby do you think it will be?
A: (Pauses for a moment) PINK!
C: Ok, but I meant will it be a girl or a boy?
A: A girl!
C: And what will the baby's name be?
A: (Pauses again) ALLIE!

So there you go! That is Allie's prediction. We will have to wait until November to see if she is correct (but knowing my track record of guessing gender, I wouldn't put money on it!!!).

(BTW, the Berman's are now leading for 'blog mentions'...the rest of you better get working!!)

The night the lights went out in Georgia

At about 2am on Sunday, the power went out. The power flickered a few times so our alarm was beeping. Allie did not wake up...I think a freight train could go through her room and she would sleep! Ryan, well, he's another story. I hear him stirring. Then I hear him start to talk.
"what happened to the light? dark in here. where's the light? mommy, where's the light?" He has a night-light in his room but it's behind his dresser. It gives off the TINIEST sliver of light...yet he woke up and noticed. Then he started to cry so I went in to comfort him. We sat in the chair in his room and he kept saying 'mommy, it's dark in here. man fix the light'. Luckily, the power came back on and he went back to sleep with his TINY sliver of light!

We had a fun visit with Nana and Papa. We celebrated Ryan (AGAIN) and Lauren's Birthdays. I will upload some pictures soon. Allie and Ryan love to play with Aiden and Lauren. Allie sat next to Lauren and said 'Lauren, you are my favorite cousin'...then she walked over to Aiden and said 'Aiden, you are my favorite cousin'...she's easy to please!

I cannot believe that it's almost the end of July already! The summer is flying by. We have had A LOT of rain in the past week...so hopefully we'll get some good swimming weather!
