Nature Explorers

On Thursday, we joined friends at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (www.chattnaturecenter.org). The CNC recently opened a new Discovery Center and we were excited to see it. We went to the 'Creature Feature' and all of the kids touched a snake. The weather was surprisingly not humid so we were able to spend time exploring the grounds and visiting with the animals (the beaver was the favorite...insert beaver jokes here).

The Discovery Center is full of interactive exhibits. The kids loved the big tank of fish and turtles as well as the microscope. If you bring something from your yard (a rock, leaf, etc.), you can discuss it with a Naturalist (not nudist) and earn points. The kids use the points to pick out various objects such as shells, pine cones, rocks, etc. that they can take home. It's a great way for the kids to really interact and learn.

I took Allie and Ryan...as well as Evan and John-Paul. Wow...4 kids. Fun but tiring! Everyone had a great time though!
More bars in more places.
Attempt at a group picture.
The boys found something in the dirt.
