Allie made a wonderful friend while we were on vacation in Disney. She met her at Blizzard Beach. She was just laying there and Allie became her friend. Her name was Aurora and she was a leaf. Her full name was, of course, Aurora Leafy. Allie placed Aurora in the cover for our room keys and carried it with her for the rest of our trip. Aurora had a bed, food, all the comforts of home. As we piled into the car to drive back to Atlanta, Allie talked about bringing Aurora home and how Aurora was going to live with us. At this point, Ryan turned to her and said 'But it's just a leaf'. This would not deter Allie. This was not just a leaf. This was Aurora Leafy!
Allie loved that leaf. Maybe she loved her too much. Aurora was small, fragile. I should have seen the signs that she wasn't going to last forever. Their friendship fell to pieces but Allie vowed to find a new Aurora Leafy. Her quest continues....
We dedicate this post to you, Aurora Leafy. Thanks for the memories!

P.S. Allie met a rock named Sleeping Beauty yesterday. The healing process has begun.
