My mother's day-a-palooza, kicked off on Friday afternoon. I came home to this GORGEOUS vase of flowers at my front door! My girls from Cobb Moms and Kids sent them! I was totally surprised and honored. I am lucky to have such a wonderful group of girlfriends in this group!
Mother's Day #1: Since Neil had to leave Saturday night for a 2-week trip (wish it was just a 2-hour tour, gilligan), we planned a great family day. We all went to Allie's swim lesson but Cortez was not there so Allie had a sub. It wasn't the same. There is no substituting for Cortez in my book! After swim, we drove to Imagine It!, the Atlanta children's museum. Allie and Ryan love to play here. The musuem is busy setting up for the circus exhibit that opens on May 17th. We finished the day with dinner at Sapporo, our favorite Japanese hibachi restaurant. It was a great day.
Nice ribbons on the raincoat, Ryan!
Mother's Day #2: My Sunday started with Allie bringing me cards from her, Ryan and Neil. Neil left them with specific instructions to give them to me first thing in the morning. This was the first year that Allie wrote 'MOM' on the card and signed her name! We were sitting on my bed and she put her finger to her chin and said 'Oh no, Mommy! I forgot to get you flowers'. :) When Ryan woke up, we piled in the car and drove to Chattanooga, TN for the day. We visited the Tennessee Aquarium and Coolidge Park. The weather was nice (despite the wind) and the kids enjoyed looking at all of the different fish. It was a wonderful way to spend the day with my little ones!
I feel lucky to have had so much LOVE for Mother's Day this year! I don't know how I'm going to make Father's Day measure up!
