If you have somehow not been informed by one of my children, yes, we are expecting another baby! I am due on May 29th (1 day after my birthday and the same day that was my mom's due date when she was pregnant with me!). I'll have another scheduled c-section so the chances of sharing a birthday with the baby are slim.
We told Allie & Ryan about 3 weeks ago and they are very excited. Allie wanted to know if it was twins, since JJ (a boy in her class) is getting twins (his mom is due in April). We are certain after 3 ultrasounds that it is just ONE baby! Neil told the kids that they can name the baby. The suggestions are...well...interesting. Ryan is partial to 'yoda' or 'gi joe'. Allie likes 'sunny' or 'strawberry shortcake'. We'll be in the car and one of them will say 'what about SALLY as the name for the baby?' and the other will say 'That's the PERFECT name for the baby'...until 5 minutes later when another name is suggested. It's quite comical. We won't be finding out if it's a boy or a girl until the baby is born, but Yoda is gender-neutral, right?
We have been sharing the news and Ryan has been (unprompted) telling people 'Mommy is growing a baby in her belly'! Allie told her teachers and all of her friends, as well as the bus-driver. I've barely had to tell anyone, although it's pretty obvious when you see me that I'm either pregnant or just packing on the pounds to be warm for winter! We let Allie tell my parents and neither of them believed her! My father said 'That's not funny, put your mother on the phone!'. We've been getting a lot of 'wow's. I guess it's quite a shocker. Allie & Ryan are only 19 months apart and now the new baby will be 6.5 and almost 5 years apart from the other two.
It will certainly be another adventure for us but I am looking forward to having 2 wonderful helpers come May! I was 6.5yo when my baby brother was born and I remember how much I loved helping my mom with everything. I can only hope for the same!
