Play Ball!

Ryan's T-ball team, the Red Sox, had their first practice tonight.  Ryan hit off the tee and practiced throwing as well. He had a lot of fun and we can't wait for his first game on Saturday!

Second trip to Blueland

And now, 2 posts in one day!

We went to the Thrashers game tonight with our friend Steve and his son Owen.  This was Ryan's 2nd game and he really enjoyed it.  We even saw Ryan's school friend Dawson play with the Jr. Thrashers during the 1st intermission.

Long time no blog

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post. I guess we haven't had too much going on! Well, actually, we've been busy. We are in the middle of our 'little' renovation project.  We are re-doing the master bathroom and re-creating the 4th bedroom upstairs (which was converted to a dressing area/closet/laundry room by the previous owners). I would say we are about 30% complete. All of the demolition is done and the electricity is roughed in. We should have drywall and tile in the next week. Don't I sound just like a contractor??  We also took this opportunity to paint some rooms that were never painted when we moved in (kitchen, dining room, and Allie's room).  The house is a mess and we are all sharing one bathroom upstairs but it will be wonderful when it is complete!

Ryan finished up his basketball season at the Y two weeks ago and he will start T-Ball on March 20th. We are excited that his team is the 'Red Sox' this year. He will be on the same team as Owen and 'Other Ryan' from basketball.  Allie is practicing for her dance recital which will be the 2nd week of May.

Baby G is growing, growing, growing! The 'birth day' has been scheduled for May 20th so just about 10 more weeks. Allie & Ryan have been playing with baby dolls and practicing their burping and diapering techniques. Everyone is excited!

We have lots going on in the next few weeks so check back for more updates!

Stone Mountain Sunday

We enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL weekend in ATL...finally. One week after 3 inches of snow, we had 65 and sunny!  On Sunday morning, we set out for Stone Mountain.

For the first part of the day, Neil & the kids enjoyed 'Snow Mountain'.  Man-made snow and tubing. Allie & Ryan had a great time.
There goes Ryan!
And Allie

After the snow fun, we drove over to the Big Apple Circus. This was our 3rd time seeing this circus and it gets better every year. It's one ring and all of the seats are very close. It's perfect for young children. As you can see, Allie was in 'awe' for most of the performance!

It was a long day but everyone had a great time. We hope the warm weather sticks around as we have had enough of winter!!

A Screamin' good time

Allie, Ryan and Maddie REALLY enjoyed the virtual rollercoaster @ Chuck E. Cheese! If this picture had sound, you would hear all 3 of them screaming.  I actually had to walk over and tell them to lower the volume as I think they were scaring other children.  ;) I can say that Allie does love a REAL rollercoaster...Ryan, not so much!

It's all fun and games until...

Today is President's Day and both kids are out of school. After a morning of running around at PLAY (http://www.playactivitycenter.com/) , lunch and grocery shopping, we've been having a quiet afternoon at home. Allie & Ryan set up an elaborate tea party for their stuffed animals, took a 'pretend bath' and played dress-up.  They were down in the basement when Ryan came running up to me.

Ryan: Allie punched me in the penis so I kicked her in the stomach and now I need a band-aid!
Me: You need a band-aid for your penis?
Ryan: No, for this scratch on my leg.

Of course!

And 10 minutes later I had to tell them to stop giving each other wedgies. Granted, they were both laughing hysterically during the administration of said wedgies!  I really do love how well they can play together even if every once and a while a penis gets punched!
