It does not seem possible that Allie is SEVEN years old! We started her celebration with lunch @ school. For the 2nd year in a row, Ryan did not have school on Friday so we made it a family-affair!

On Friday night, Allie selected California Pizza Kitchen for her birthday dinner.

On Saturday, Allie's friends met at Brunswick Zone for COSMIC BOWLING! The bowling alley is dark, neon lights, glow bracelets, mist, etc. Everyone had a great time. Allie declared it 'the best birthday party EVER'!

And finally, Allie invited FIVE (yes, FIVE!) of her friends to sleep over. They watched Toy Story 3 and now they are 'sleeping'...well, hopefully they will eventually sleep!

It was another wonderful birthday celebration! Our princess is 7!

Ryan's assignment was to provide a disguise for the turkey so the farmer couldn't kill it for Thanksgiving dinner.

End of Fall Ball

Ryan had a great first season in the Shetland league of EastSide Baseball.  The Durham Bulls made it to the final 3 teams in the tournament!  Ryan started the season hitting mostly off the T but about 1/2 way through the season, he was hitting most of the coach's pitches.  Ryan learned a lot about the game, improved, and most importantly, had FUN!   We had a wonderful team and great coaches led by Coach P.  I don't know how next season will be able to live up to this one!  We had the team party tonight and Coach P presented each player with a team photo, a trophy, and his 'stats' for the season.  Coach P is a bit of a spreadsheet-nerd and kept track of every play of every game! It is a nice way to document and remember Ryan's first season!

Ryan received the 'biggest heart' award. He was 33 for 42 with a batting average of .786. He had 29 singles (tied for 2nd on the team), 3 doubles, and 1 triple.   He scored 18 runs and had 16 RBI's and he made 1 out.

Registration for spring baseball is in just 6 weeks. We can't wait!

Halloween-a-palooza 2010, Part 2

And finally...Trick or Treating with friends!

Halloween-a-palooza 2010, Part 1

This year is no different than the previous years in that we have had several Halloween events and it's only Oct 30th! Allie and Ryan are also continuing the tradition of wearing as many different costumes as possible!

We went to the Chattahoochee Nature Center with Lola for the 'Halloween Hike'. It was cool to walk around in the dark and learn all about nature!

At  Mt. Bethel, the 1st graders celebrate 'Scarecrow Day'. Allie dressed up as a scarecrow and enjoyed fun 'fall-themed' centers and snacks!

At Mt. Zion, Ryan's class had a Halloween party and the very first TRUNK or TREAT. I am very proud of this event as it was an idea that I brought to the director a few months ago.  For those not familiar with the concept, people park their cars and decorate the trunk. The children then 'trick or treat' from car-to-car! It is actually a great way to get the younger kids more comfortable with the idea of trick or treating! The families that participated were so creative and everyone had a blast!

This year we added the Halloween Carnival at Indian Hills to our Halloween Events. The kids made crafts, decorated cupcakes, played games, and trick-or-treated around the club.

And last but not least, we made our annual walk around the Avenue to collect candy from the stores! We met up with lots of friends and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon outside!

I am exhausted just re-capping all of this...and we have one more night to go of ACTUAL Trick or Treating!! Happy Halloween!!

Chow Time

Now that Sean is 5 months, we have been letting him start some 'solid' food...well, mush, really.  He has had oatmeal and banana.  He isn't so excited about the oatmeal on its own but he likes it mixed with banana!
