Everyone loves the fair!

It's that time of year again...time for the North Georgia State Fair! Corn dogs, cotton candy, grown men wearing overalls, and lots of women in spandex...you can't beat it! This year, we had an extra-special time at the fair because Allie's BFF Maggie came with us! Maggie slept-over on Friday night and then we spent the morning at the fair. We also met up with the Gary family and Ryan loved hanging out with Thomas. Everyone ate too much junk but we had a wonderful day at the fair!

Pizza Day!

Last Friday was 'Family Day' @ Mt. Bethel. The school encouraged parents to come to school to eat lunch with our kids. As luck would have it, Friday was PIZZA day!

Mid-week Weekend

We are very lucky that we did not sustain any damage from the recent heavy rain and flooding in the Atlanta-area last week. We received over 20 inches of rain in a two-day span! Many roads and bridges were washed out and thus school was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Thankfully, the predicted additional days of rain did not occur and we had a couple of dry, sunny days! Since we had the time-off, we decided to make the most of it. We spent time with friends, had Ella sleep-over, and went to the Zoo! Allie asked me today if tomorrow was the start of our 'second weekend' since we had the 2-day break a few days ago! I think I like the idea of a 2-weekend week!

Soccer Kick-off

Ryan started his 2nd season of NASA soccer on Sunday. He moved up to the 'Smidgets' this year. His team is the Blasters and they have 7 players. Ryan's classmate Parker is on his team (Parker's dad is the coach) and so is our friend Aiden. In this age-group, the first 30 minutes is practice/drills. The 2nd 30 minutes is 3-on-3 scrimmages. The whole point of the weekly sessions is to get the kids used to the game and get everyone as much 'touch' time with the ball as possible. Ryan played well and had fun!

3rd Annual Fire Station Visit

The Cobb Moms made our 3rd Annual Visit to the Cobb County Fire Station #14 today. We try to visit on or around September 11th each year. We make dinner for the firefighters to thank them for all that they do. The guys at this station are amazing. They took the kids on a tour, let them sit on the trucks, dressed up in their gear, put on the lights and sirens, and gave out hats and stickers! One of the firefighters even remembered Ryan from last year and commented on how much he has grown! The kids had a great time. We can't wait to go back next year!

Run Allie Run!

Today was the Mt. Bethel Boosterthon Fun Run! Allie collected pledges and then ran laps today to earn $ for her school. Allie ran all 35 laps! We are so proud of her! We are also very appreciative of all the friends and family that pledged money for Mt. Bethel!
